CCTV footage released after terrifying attack on Scots mum with young son

Police have released CCTV footage following a horror attack on a Scots mum with her young son.

The terrifying incident took place between on Stirling Street- between Cobden Street, Alva and the Day Today shop - in Alva around 8.45pm on Sunday 24 January.

The 29-year-old woman, was walking with her young son, who was on a scooter at the time, when a man approached and assaulted her before leaving the area.

The pair were assisted by a local shop assistant, before calling for police.

They were left badly shaken.

The male is described as being in his 30s, 5ft 10 in height, stocky build, with receding dark hair.

He was wearing a dark blue sports style zipped jacket with a logo on the left chest, dark trousers and black trainers with a distinctive white sole.

At the time, Sergeant Andy Chalmers, from Alloa Police Station, said: “While we can be thankful that this incident did not lead to more serious injuries, it was clearly extremely distressing for the victim and her son.

“Any information which could help us establish the full circumstances and the identity of the man could prove vital.”
