CCTV footage captures customer's bravery as he tackles 'armed' robber in Norfolk

CCTV footage has been released showing a customer tackle an ‘armed’ robber in a Norfolk convenience store.

Stephen Lawrence, 54, entered Premier Stores on Drayton Road armed with what appeared to be a sawn-off shotgun; which later proved to be a fake.

Lawrence had intimidated customer Sharon Baker before entering; leading her to fetch husband Darren, who was outside.

Mr Baker is seen storming into the convenience store, who confronts Lawrence and tackles him to the floor.

Mr Baker was able to detain Lawrence until the police arrived. The couple were both awarded £300 for their bravery.

Lawrence has been sentenced to an extended term of 11 years and five years on license after admitting to robbery and possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence in December 2015.
