CCTV appeal to trace man after car set on fire outside Sunderland house

A car was set on fire outside a Sunderland home after a liquid was sprayed on the windscreen.

Officers investigating the arson offence have released the image of a man they would like to identify.

Shortly before 9pm on May 23, officers were called to an address on Scoresby Close following a report of a car fire.

It was reported that an offender sprayed an unknown liquid over the windscreen of a vehicle parked outside of an address before setting it on fire.

Nobody was injured but a full investigation was launched by Northumbria Police to locate those responsible.

After following various lines of enquiry, police have released the image of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

He was seen in the area at the time that the car was set on fire and could have information that can assist the investigation.

The man, or anyone who knows him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website or by calling 101 quoting log 1069 230521. Alternatively, you can email 2122@northumbria.pnn.police.uk.
