CCTV appeal as six bikes are stolen from city centre apartment block

Six bikes have been stolen from a city centre apartment block, prompting a police appeal.

There has been four break-ins over the past two week at Old Brewery, in Lawford Street, and residents fear more could soon be targeted.

Police have now released images of two people they want to speak to in connection with the thefts.

One of the victims, Tom Kimber had a racer Francesca Moser, worth around £1,500 stolen from the building's secure lockup.

He said: "There's been around six bikes stolen from our block but our management company has told it's been happening at other sites they own, and don't own, around the city and it's the same guys.

"It's pretty large scale operation."

The 32-year-old added: "I was disheartened when I realised my bike was gone."

Call 101 if you recognise this man (Avon and Somerset Police)

Bloq Management Services run the building. A spokesman confirmed 'additional security measures have been put in place'.

He said: "We've had four incidents in the last fortnight at the Old Brewery, with the loss of at least four bikes, even though additional security measures have been put in place.

"We held a positive and well-attended Zoom meeting with residents last week to discuss security concerns and what further can be done, and we're progressing that.

"We have good footage from each of the four incidents which we have shared with police and are hopeful that this will increase the chances of them being identified and caught."

Avon and Somerset police has now launched an investigation into the thefts.
