CCTV appeal after woman was left with serious head injuries after pizza shop attack

A woman was left with serious injuries to her head and face after being attacked in a Northumberland pizza shop.

Shortly after 1.30pm on September 15, police received a report of an assault outside Quality Pizza on Waterloo Road in Blyth.

It is believed the assault happened on September 13 shortly after 9.30pm.

It was reported that two men have shouted verbal abuse at two women. After being asked to stop one of the men has then assaulted one of the women, 36, causing serious injury to her head and face.

Northumbria Police have now released a CCTV image of two men who they want to speak to.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers have now released an image of two men who were in the pizza shop at the time and may be able to help officers with enquiries.

"The men, or anyone who recognises them, are asked to contact police via 101 and quote reference number 530 15/09/19.

"Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111."
