CCTV appeal after victim left with broken nose in racially aggravated assault in Durham city centre

An investigation is under way after a man was injured in a racially aggravated assault in Durham.

Police have now released CCTV images of two people they want to trace in connection with the incident that took place in the city centre at around 3am on Sunday, June 27.

Officers say a man was punched as he got into a taxi outside a takeaway on Claypath, leaving him with a broken nose.

Anyone who recognises the people in the images is being asked to come forward.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Officers would like to speak to the people pictured as they believe they may be able to help with the investigation.

"If you recognise them call us on 101, quoting incident number 47 of June 27.

"Alternatively, information can be passed on to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
