CCTV appeal after spate of criminal damage to parked cars in Gateshead

An investigation is under way after a spate of criminal damage in Gateshead.

Police have received a number of reports that cars parked on Bewick Road in Bensham had been damaged.

It was reported that a several vehicles had their wing mirrors damaged on the evening of July 31.

An investigation to identify the person responsible is ongoing and now police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "He was in the area at the time of the incident and may be able to assist police with their enquiries.

"Anyone who recognises the man, or know his identities is encouraged to contact police on 101 quoting log 460 31/07/20.

"You can also report online at the Northumbira Police website or contact independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
