CCTV appeal after robbery at William Hill bookmakers in Newcastle

An investigation is under way after a robbery at a William Hill bookmakers in Newcastle.

Officers are investigating the robbery which happened in the west end of the city on the evening of May 12.

At about 7.10pm, a man entered the William Hill bookmakers on Two Ball Lonnen and allegedly threatened staff with a knife. One employee was then allegedly assaulted by the man.

The staff member suffered three fractured ribs and a broken collarbone as a result of the attack.

The offender then made off with a quantity of money.

An investigation is ongoing into the incident and police have today released the image of a man they would like to trace.

He was in the area at the time the offence took place and officers believe he could assist the investigation.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of their website or by calling 101 quoting log 1030 120521.
