CCTV appeal after men robbed and assaulted in homophobic assault in Bristol city centre

Police have released CCTV of a man they want to speak to after a homophobic robbery and assault in Bristol city centre.

The incident, during which two victims were attacked, happened on Rupert Street on Thursday, June 6 between three and four am.

The pair were walking home from a night out when they were confronted by two men who were using offensive language. The men were assaulted, and a gold chain was stolen from one of the victims.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary are treating the incident as a homophobic hate crime.

Following the incident, the police have released CCTV footage of a man they want to speak to.
