CCTV appeal after man throws staff member against wall during bus station outburst

Police have released a picture of a man they want to speak to after a staff member was thrown against the wall at a bus station.

A suspect assaulted the victim after he was asked if he'd been smoking inside, police said.

The incident happened at Bolton Bus Interchange at about 9.30pm on Friday, June 21.

A member of staff had approached the man to ask if he had been smoking after the fire alarm went off.

He responded by becoming verbally abusive. He then grabbed hold of a member of staff before throwing him against the wall.

The offender then walked away from the scene, while continuing to shout verbal abuse, a GMP spokesman confirmed.

Detectives are asking anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV to get in touch.

He could have useful information to help with their investigation, they said.

A GMP spokesman said: "Police have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault and criminal damage at Bolton Bus Interchange.

"At around 9.30pm on Friday, June 21, staff at the bus terminus in Trinity Street responded to a fire alarm being activated at Stand E.
