CCTV appeal after man suffers fractured spine after brutal attack in North Shields

A man is wanted in connection with a brutal assault outside a North Shields gym which a left a man hospitalised.

Officers from Northumbria Police have launched an investigation after it was reported that a man had been assaulted outside a gym on the West Chirton Industrial Estate shortly before 12pm on December 19.

The victim was taken to hospital as a result of the savage attack after suffering from a broken nose and fractures to his vertebrae.

The force has now, as part of their inquiries, released the image of a man who they would like to identify in connection with the incident.

The picture shows a man with a short dark brown beard wearing an Under Armour cap as well as a hooded top.

Officers wish to identify this man in connection with an assault in North Shields (Northumbria Police)

He was in the area at the time of the incident and could have information that assists the ongoing investigation.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to contact police by visiting the ‘Tell Us Something’ page on the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting log NP-20221219-0385.
