CCTV appeal after man suffered serious head injuries in attack in Revolution

An investigation is under way after a man was attacked in a Newcastle city centre bar.

It was reported to police that the 52-year-old had been assaulted and knocked to the floor inside Revolution on Collingwood Street.

Officers attended and the man was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries to his head.

It happened shortly after 10.10pm on Saturday June 29.

Police are now keen to speak to a man who is believed to have been in the bar at the time and could help officers with enquiries.

PC Hailey Routledge, of Northumbria Police , said: “This was a serious assault that left the victim with serious injuries to his head.

“This assault was carried out in a busy bar and we understand a number of bystanders were nearby who may have seen what happened.

“We are appealing to anyone who has any information about the incident to contact police and help us determine the circumstances surrounding what happened.

“We are especially keen to speak to the man pictured. He was in the area at the time and may be able to assist us with our enquiries.

"We appreciate the image quality is low but we're hoping someone may recognise the clothing."

Witnesses are asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 1223 29/06/19 or Crimestoppers , anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
