CCTV appeal after man allegedly takes picture up teenage girl's skirt at Gateshead Metro station

Police are searching for a man who allegedly took a photo up a teenage girl's skirt.

The incident, known as upskirting, happened at about 4.05pm on the Thursday, December 3, at Gateshead Metro Station in the town centre.

It was alleged that a man used his smartphone to take a picture up the skirt of a teenage girl before she noticed and confronted the man before contacting police.

Northumbria Police has now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Enquiries to identify him are ongoing but now police have released an image of a man they need to speak to as part of their investigation.

"He was on the train at the time of the voyeurism offence and could assist police with their enquiries.

"The man, or anyone who recognises him, is asked to report it online at the Northumbria Police website quoting log 692 03/12/20.

"You can also call 101 or email the investigating officer at 1555@northumbria.pnn.police.uk."
