CCTV appeal after man, 18, left with broken jaw in assault outside Newcastle bar

An investigation has been launched after a man was left with a broken jaw following an assault outside a bar in Newcastle.

Police received a report that a man had been assaulted outside the Dog and Parrot, on Clayton Street West in the city centre at about 3.30am on July 25.

It was reported the victim, aged 18, was approached by another male who then punched him twice in the face, breaking his jaw in two places before leaving the scene.

Northumbria Police is investigating the incident and has issued a photograph of a group of men who officers believe could have information that could help.

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Officers investigating an assault which left a man with a broken jaw have appealed to the public for help.

"An investigation was immediately launched and detectives have been busy carrying out extensive enquiries, including reviewing CCTV from the area.

"They are now appealing to the public for information, and have also issued a photograph of a group of men who were in the area at the time of the incident, who could have information which assists the investigation.

"The men, or anyone who has information about this, is asked to contact police as soon as possible, using the Tell us Something page on our website quoting log NP-20210725-0357."
