CCTV appeal after bank card, designer sunglasses and air pods are stolen

An investigation is under way into a number of fraud offences after a woman's purse was stolen from her car.

On Thursday, May 21, police were contacted by a woman in Forest Hall who reported that someone had broken into her car and stole her purse along with some designer sunglasses and air pods worth £320.

The victim also noticed that there had been several transactions made using her stolen card.

Northumbria Police has now released a CCTV image of a woman they believe could help them with their enquiries.

A spokesperson for the force said: "An investigation was launched and enquiries revealed a number of purchases had been made at Poundland and various other stores in the Wallsend area using the stolen card.

"Police have now released an image of a woman they would like to speak to. She was in the area when the card was being used and may have valuable information that can assist officers with their enquiries.

"The woman, or anyone who knows her, is asked to get in touch via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of our website quoting log 991 210520. Alternatively, you can email 3267@northumbria.pnn.police.uk"
