CBSE class 12 revaluation 2026 deadline changed after technical glitches: Check new date and other details

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has extended the deadline for Class 12 students seeking verification and re-evaluation of their answer sheets. The verification and re-evaluation process is a key component of CBSE's post-result services, allowing students to ensure that their answer sheets have been assessed accurately.

Under the existing system, students must first apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. Only after receiving these copies can they seek verification of marks or request re-evaluation of specific questions.

The process is aimed at ensuring transparency and strengthening students' confidence in the evaluation mechanism.

CBSE class 12 revaluation 2026: Check new date

The last date, which was earlier set as June 6, has now been extended by a day to June 7 midnight, CBSE officials said on Friday.

The move comes in response to technical difficulties faced by students while accessing the portal and the sharp increase in applications following the declaration of results.

Rise in Requests After Digital Evaluation Rollout

This year, CBSE expanded the use of its On-Screen Marking system, a digital evaluation process designed to reduce human error and improve efficiency.

However, several students reported issues such as blurred scanned copies and skipped markings, leading to a significant rise in requests for re-evaluation.

According to officials, more than 70,000 applications have already been submitted, underlining the scale of demand and the need for an extension.

Fee Structure and Finality of Marks

CBSE has also revised the fee structure to make the process more accessible for students.

Applicants are required to pay a nominal fee for verification, along with a per-question charge for re-evaluation.

The Board has clarified that once the re-evaluation process is completed, the revised marks, if any, will be treated as final and binding, with no provision for further appeal.

CBSE Issues Advisory to Students

The Board has advised students to take note of the revised schedule and complete their applications before the new deadline.

To facilitate the process, CBSE has also activated its helpline to assist students and parents with any queries or technical issues.

Re-evaluation Results Expected by July

The extension is expected to provide relief to students who were unable to complete their applications within the original timeline.

With Class 12 results playing a crucial role in college admissions and higher education opportunities, the re-evaluation outcomes, expected by July, will be closely watched. The process is also seen as an important test of CBSE's digital evaluation system and its commitment to fairness, transparency and accuracy.
