The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the Class 12 re-evaluation and verification process for 2026 after concerns surfaced over lower-than-expected marks and the newly introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Students who want their answer sheets reviewed can apply through the official CBSE portals from May 19. The board has also reduced the fees for verification and photocopies of answer sheets to Rs 100, bringing relief to many families.
Students can submit their applications through CBSE official website and CBSE rechecking portal.

Many students claimed their scores were lower than expected, leading to demands for a more transparent review process.
CBSE has now opened access to scanned answer sheets before students apply for verification or re-checking, a step many students had been seeking.
