CBS Sports ranks Seahawks as most likely to trade in first round of NFL draft

The Seahawks are well known for their draft-day trades, and Seattle general manager John Schneider could be primed more than ever to make more this year.

The Seahawks have only four picks to play with in the 2019 NFL draft. Trading down in the first, or out of Day 1 altogether, makes the most sense for Seattle.

R.J. White of CBS Sports agrees and ranks the Seahawks the most likely team to execute a first-round trade this season.

White points to Seattle’s prior success in dealing picks and the fact the team has traded its first-rounders every year since Russell Wilson rolled into town.

This April should be no different.

“With only four picks in their cache for the 2019 draft, I actually expect them to move down multiple times, possibly not even making their first pick until the second round in the 35-50 range, unless there’s a prospect on the board they didn’t expect after their first trade-down and feel like they can’t risk losing him by moving down again,” White writes.

With Schneider’s strategy of trading to accumulating more draft capital having worked so far, why change a good thing?
