CBBC stars Max and Harvey announce their new role at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

CBBC stars Max and Harvey Mills are celebrating their special new role at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

The children's TV presenters and singing sensations have become patrons of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

To mark their new role the 17-year-old twins visited the hospital to film an episode of their CBBC programme FOMO.

They were joined by current and former patients who have supported the charity, which exists to enhance the experience of the 260,000 children cared for by the hospital every year.

The episode they filmed of FOMO on Wednesday was the last in the current series and will be aired on Saturday March 28 on CBBC.

At the hospital they met charity mascot Humphrey the bear, who was thrilled to welcome them on board.

As patrons the teens will support charity events and activities throughout the year.

They join other famous names including Cold Feet actor John Thomson, Manchester United legend Phil Neville and his wife Julie, Hits Radio host Gemma Atkinson and Coronation Street stars Antony Cotton, Brooke Vincent, Jennie McAlpine, Kym Marsh, Samia Longchambon and Simon Gregson.

Max and Harvey, who were finalists in last year's Celebrity X Factor, said: “We are excited and proud to have been asked to be patrons for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

“We love going to visit them and have been raising money over the last few years for the charity through selling personal video messages for our fans.

"The staff and kids we visit at the hospital are such an inspiration and we are honoured to become charity patrons.”

After meeting with Humphrey Max and Harvey visited Ward 84 of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital to sing songs to some of the children.

At Christmas the brothers donated £3,000 to support the charity’s work to improve treatment, research and care for young patients at the hospital.

Their latest visit came after Max and Harvey performed a sold-out show at Manchester Club Academy on Tuesday night.
