CBBC legends Dick and Dom make huge comeback after 17 years with iconic show Da Bungalow

CBBC legends Dick and Dom are set to make a huge comeback, 17 years after their iconic show - but fans might be gutted over big change.

The famous pair are heading back to their classic show, Da Bungalow. Yet, it won't be on TV.

Comedy act Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood are best known for hosting the popular BBC children's television series.

Each episode, they were joined by six children who compete for points in a series of silly and messy games.

Dick and Dom in Da Bungalow started in 2002 and ran for five series. The pair won two BAFTA awards for the show and is still much loved by fans.

Dick and Dom, who are now both 45 years old, were also famous for the game 'bogies' which caught on like wildfire during the 2000s.

It saw players take turns to shout 'bogies' louder and louder whilst in public places, until someone would be too embarrassed to continue.

The cheeky duo and original fans are much older now, but that is not stopping them from celebrating the 20th anniversary of the show.

In an effort to bring Dick and Dom back, the pair are taking the show on a UK tour.

Bringing back iconic moments from the show, they will head to stages around the UK including Glasgow, Cardiff, London, Nottingham, Birmingham and Newcastle.

The tour kicks off on Saturday 11 March and finishes in the middle of May.

Fans can expect to see the Creamy Muck Muck segment, where the audience get covered in gunk.

There will also be games such as the two-word tango, musical splatues and the grunty song.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times, Richard said: "It’s mad that 20 years have flown by, a click of the fingers and here we are bringing it back to the stage."

Dominic added: "One of the maddest things is the average age of the viewer back then when we started was 10, so these people are now 30, so that’s just crazy."

"It’s weird how things from your childhood really stick in your memory so hopefully it will bring back some happy memories for everyone," Richard continued.

The pair hit the big time with their kids’ show, which ran on CBBC but was later upgraded to BBC1 from 2002 to 2006.

Pre-pandemic, the pals were working as drum ’n’ bass DJs on the university and festivals circuit.

They were last seen as TV presenters in 2009 – hosting Sky One quiz show Are You Smarter Than A 10 Year Old?

They have also popped up on various reality shows as guests over the years including MasterChef in 2013 and Celebrity Come Dine With Me.
