As the New England Patriots continue their training camp, one notable player has been absent. Cornerback Stephon Gilmore has missed the last two days of practice.
The cornerback has been tending to a personal matter, as reported by the Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian. The 2019 Associated Press Defensive Player of the Year figures to be a major part of the equation for the Patriots.
With the cornerback position having ample depth heading into 2020, Gilmore is undoubtedly the leader of the position. With New England having the toughest schedule in all of football, Gilmore and the rest of the secondary will be relied upon to perform at a high level.
