Cayleigh Griffin hired as courtside reporter for Rockets’ broadcasts

Cayleigh Griffin will replace Michelle Margaux as the courtside reporter for local Houston Rockets television broadcasts this season, AT&T SportsNet Southwest announced on Wednesday.

The network serves as Houston’s local TV partner for 70 NBA games in the regular season and through the first round of the postseason.

Margaux, who had joined the network before the 2018-19 season, announced her departure in late September.

The courtside reporter role works with play-by-play broadaster Bill Worrell and analysts Matt Bullard and Clyde Drexler on home broadcasts, and with play-by-play broadcaster Craig Ackerman and Bullard on road broadcasts.

Griffin will also replace Margaux as the host of the team’s weekly behind-the-scenes show, Rockets All Access.

Griffin comes to AT&T SportsNet following stints at FOX Sports Southwest and FOX Sports Ohio, where she worked as reporter and host for both the San Antonio Spurs and Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Rockets begin their 2019-20 regular season on Thursday versus Milwaukee, but that game is an exclusive national broadcast on TNT. As a result, the local AT&T SportsNet schedule begins with Saturday’s home game versus New Orleans. All network broadcasts throughout the season will include both pregame and postgame shows.
