Cavehill Country Park 'serious assault' sees man in his 20s found after being 'attacked with hammers'

A man in his 20s was found in North Belfast after being 'attacked by men armed with hammers'.

The 'serious assault' is reported to have happened on Monday evening, November 29.

Police said they received a report at around 8.40pm of the incident that happened in Cavehill Country Park in the Hightown Road area.

PSNI Inspector Irwin: “He [the man] was later discovered on the Ballysillan Road where he was then taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries.

“I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the attack or who may have any information in relation to the assault, to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1844 of 29/11/21.”
