A Cavan woman has reunited with her husband of 69 years on her 103rd birthday after six months apart.
Maggie Timmins from Belturbet in Co. Cavan celebrated her 103rd birthday alongside her husband John, who recently recovered from illness to be with her.
Timmens’ granddaughter Colette told the Irish Mirror that her grandparents, who were not able to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary in April are delighted to be reunited.
“Grandad hasn’t missed any of her birthdays since they were together so it was lovely that they got to celebrate together today”.
Maggie, who was disappointed that she couldn't kiss her husband John "because he was wearing a muzzle", said hard work was the secret to her longevity.
“The secret to long life is hard work, keep going all the time, a good family, and hope that you don't get too much trouble".
