Kevin Love underwent surgery on his left foot Friday, the Cavaliers announced, saying the timeline on his return to basketball will be updated in approximately six weeks.
Dr. Martin O'Malley performed the operation at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where Love recently received a second opinion after an MRI revealed fluid on his left big toe.
Expected to be the cornerstone of the rebuilding Cavs, Love tried to play through the injury, which he suffered in the preseason opener Oct. 2. But the pain persisted and he has already missed the past four games for the 1-7 Cavs.
