Caura smartphone car app now allows quicker insurance cover

RECENTLY launched smartphone app Caura has now added a quick and easy insurance service to its car management features.

Bosses say the new Caura Protect insurance product means drivers can buy affordable, comprehensive cover in-app in less than 60 seconds.

The hi-tech app already ensures that busy road users can easily take care of MOT, road tax and parking, toll and congestion charges.

Partnering with six leading UK insurers, Caura says it has streamlined sign-up and official verification processes, while another benefit is a reduced risk of insurance fraud.

This cuts out the need to answer 50-plus questions on a price comparison website before being handed on to an insurer to complete the deal.

And the tie-ups with Aviva, Ageas, Markerstudy, ERS, Sabre and Somerset Bridge allows Caura to offer cover for the majority of UK drivers, not just a niche market.

Caura users answer a short series of questions about their insurance needs and receive several quotes. They can easily pay for insurance in just two taps through Apple Pay or their stored credit/debit card.

In early 2021, Financial Conduct Authority-approved Caura will allow monthly insurance payments. After signing up, users will be able to access documents, make claims and adjust policies all from the app.

Caura insurance director Alan Hickman said: “Our partnerships with the leading UK insurers helps us make car ownership easy and affordable, and roads safer.

“We have worked hard to create a seamless and simple way to buy and manage insurance just as we did for paying for parking, taxes and tolls.”

Currently available on Apple devices, the Caura app will be running on Android platforms soon and you can go to www.caura.com to find out more.
