- Hollywood legend Julie Newmar, known for playing Catwoman , has said that men should run the entertainment industry as she believes they do it better than women.
- The 92-year-old actress told The Guardian that men "do it best".
- Newmar, whose career began in the 1950s, said she is "not the first in line in the #MeToo class", explaining: “I love men too much. I understand them. And the heads of studios, yes, they break a door down and they do this or they do that – that’s how they act.”
- She reflected on the male attention she received from her roles, saying she "liked it”.
- The #MeToo movement, which Newmar referenced, occurred after the investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against producer Harvey Weinstein, encouraging survivors of sexual harassment and violence to share their stories.
