Geelong coach Chris Scott is bracing for bad news after big man Jack Henry suffered another foot injury.
Henry will miss at least the next few weeks after landing awkwardly on his foot in last week's practice match against Hawthorn.
The 24-year-old premiership player, who had surgery on his foot during the 2022 pre-season and missed two months last season with a foot injury, has been sent off for further assessment.
"It's a little uncertain at the moment," Scott told SEN.
"I always try not to predict how these things are going to go. It's clearly complicated enough to be a problem, just how bad it is (we aren't sure yet).
"I think we'll know a little bit more in the next 48 hours. Our club is really forthright with these things once we know. We tend to be guarded when there is a range of possibilities.
"He's clearly not playing in the next couple of weeks. I think I've tried to say we shouldn't read the tea leaves but if you can detect the tone in my voice, I'm not that positive."
Henry has trained as a forward over the summer, and booted two goals against the Hawks before getting injured.
