Singer Delta Goodrem will take on the lead role of Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning musical when it plays in Australia. She follows in the footsteps of former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who played the role in the London West End’s musical revival in 2014.
Based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the much loved musical tells a story of the Jellicle cat tribe who are on their way to Jellicle ball, where one cat will be chosen to be reborn.
Cats is one of the longest-running musicals in West End and Broadway history and has been performed to more than 73 million people in over 300 cities. The show’s best-known song, Memory, has been sung by more than 150 artists including Barbara Streisand. Goodrem will take on the mantle on this Australian tour.
