The RSPCA has urged people struggling during the coronavirus pandemic to not dump their pets after two cats were found dumped near the Rochdale Canal.
The two black and white cats were discovered by a passer-by near to Albert Royds Street, in Rochdale, on Friday, April 3.
They had been left in a cat carrier with no food or water, and were very nervous when rescued by the RSPCA.

The female cats, aged around six to 12 months old, are now being cared for by the RSPCA Rochdale and District branch.
Staff have named the pair Harbour and Haven.
The cats are still quite nervous, but it is hoped with patience from staff they will begin to come out of their shell.

RSPCA Inspector Sarah Bagley, who rescued the cats, said: "These poor cats had been abandoned by the canal and were very lucky they were found by a kind passerby.
"They are both young cats and nice and healthy but extremely nervous and skittish.
“Although we understand that everyone is going through a challenging time at the moment, we would urge any pet owners struggling to cope with their pets to please seek help from friends and family rather than abandoning them.”
The RSPCA said since the coronavirus lockdown in March they have received more than 60,000 calls to the animal cruelty line.
