Catherine Zeta-Jones says her kids Carys and Dylan have 'passion' for acting

Catherine Zeta-Jones has admitted that her children have a 'passion' for acting and might follow in their famous parents' footsteps.

The 51-year-old actress, who shares Carys, 18, and Dylan, 20, with actor Michael Douglas, suggested that their children have a pull towards performing even though they had tried to dissuade them.

Speaking to Drew Barrymore in a recent interview, the Prodigal Son actress revealed that while her children are excelling in subjects like history and politics, it seems like the siblings are drawn to their parents' craft.

Catherine's remarks came despite revelations that her husband Michael had warned his kids that they could always be associated to their famous parents' legacies.

"Their love of the craft of acting is so strong that even when Michael... their brains they are doing politics and history in school, but their passion is acting," Catherine told Drew.

'"And they’ve never done anything professional, but they would like to go into acting."

Later, the actress added that Michael had spoken to them about what it is like to be in the same industry as a parent.

Micahel is the son of movie star Kirk Douglas, and both enjoyed hugely successful Hollywood careers.

She added: "But my kids, Michael has said to them what it is like to be, "the daughter of" in the same industry, which I guess is similar if you are in business. If you are successful in business, your kids have, it’s not an easy way in, in fact one has to prove oneself more, so even with that deterrent my kids are like, "No, sorry we still want to do it."'

Catherine and Michael have been married for over two decades and couldn't be prouder of their two grown kids.

However, before the couple's daughter sets her sights on Hollywood, the parents have also made sure that Carys attends college in order to further her education.

Despite suggesteing it felt 'bizarre' to be considered an 'empty nester' the actress had nothing but praise for how both her kids had grown up.
