Catherine Tyldesley ‘will never return’ to Coronation Street

If you were hoping for a return of Eva Price anytime, you won’t be pleased with this news.

Actress Catherine Tyldesley all but confirmed that she will not return to the ITV soap due after 12-hour shifts ‘took over her life’.

The 35-year-old, who played barmaid Eva for seven years before quitting in 2018, hinted that the gruelling schedule prevented her spending time with her son Alfie, four, and hubby Tom Pitford.

For this reason, Cath is unlikely ever to return to the cobbles, after the show ‘took over her life’.

Speaking to Daily Star, Catherine said: “It was 7am to 7pm every day at Corrie.

“Those are moments in your life you never get back. I love spending more time with my little boy now."

Since her exit from the programme, Catherine admits that she hasn’t watched a single episode of the soap.

"I’ve not managed to watch it. I’m too busy,” she said.

This comes following the announcement that seven cast members have quit the show in the past three months.

As previously reported in the M.E.N., rumours of a 'crisis' have hit the long-running show, with favourite Katie McGlynn, who plays Sinead Osbourne, the latest to confirm she is leaving.

Also exiting the street are Faye Brookes (Kate Connor), Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor), Lucy Fallon (Bethany Platt) and Tristan Gemmill (Robert Preston) .

Katie McGlynn (Sinead Osbourne) is the latest soap star to announce their departure from the show (Coronation Street/ITV)

They follow the departure of Bhavna Limbachia (Rana Habeeb) and Connie Hyde (Gina Seddon).

A Coronation Street source has hit back at reports of a 'crisis' on the street,  following the series of departures, saying: "All this talk of a crisis is nonsense and there are no crisis meetings. It’s business as usual.

"Actors come and go all the time due to either their decision to leave or as dictated by storylines -that is just the nature of soap."

Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor laughs off 'crisis' claims and says everyone is 'really happy'
