Catherine Tyldesley 'will never go back to Corrie' as she hits out at soap

Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has hit out at the gruelling work schedule on the soap saying it's "time she will never get back".

Fans of the soap will be sad to hear Catherine has no plans to bring Eva Price back to Weatherfield after the show 'took over her life'.

The 35-year-old actress starred on the ITV soap for seven years before quitting in 2018 and has now hit out at its 'gruelling schedule' which robbed her of "special" family time with her son.

Catherine said the 12-hour shifts, sometimes seven days a week, took their toll on her personal life.

Speaking to Daily Star, Catherine said: “It was 7am to 7pm every day at Corrie.

“Those are moments in your life you never get back. I love spending more time with my little boy now."

She also admitted that since leaving the soap, she hasn't watched a single minute of it, as she has better things to do with her time.

Catherine revealed: "I’ve not managed to watch it. I’m too busy.”

The soap has been going through a mini crisis with seven stars quitting in the past three months, and others reportedly considering their futures on the cobbles.

A source told Daily Star that the "cast has had enough".

They continued to say that "the younger ones work their butts off to promote the show but are badly paid".

There have been rumblings that some of the younger actors could actually make more money promoting products on social media and it is becoming a struggle to justify staying on the soap.

It is believed that the top names on the soap are earning up to £250,000 but the newcomers are getting less then £10,000 more than the UK's average salary.
