Catherine Tyldesley 'tipped to replace Holly Willoughby on Celebrity Juice'

Catherine Tyldesley could be trading in the cobbles for a team captain hat as reports suggest she will replace Holly Willoughby on Celebrity Juice.

The 36-year-old former Coronation Street star is in the running to be the new permanent member of the late night ITV quiz show – fronted by Keith Lemon actor Leigh Francis, 47.

Celebrity Juice is on the hunt for a new star to join the panel after 39-year-old Holly shocked fans earlier this month by announcing she had quit the show after 12 years of service.

According to The Sun on Sunday, Cath is a front runner to be the new star as she already has a close friendship with Leigh – and has the right kind of image to fill in the Willoughby-shaped hole left on the show.

A show source told The Sun: “Cath is brilliant fun, naturally very sharp and witty, and already has chemistry with Keith as they’re pals.

“She’s also got a girl next door appeal, much like Holly.”

They added: ”Producers have got a short list of around eight stars, and Cath is very much up. For her part, she has told pals she would be up for it.”

Celebrity Juice has been on the air since September 2008 – with Holly, Leigh and Fearne Cotton forming the original line-up.

Fearne, 38, quit the show in 2018, and was replaced as a team captain by Paddy McGuinness, 46.

While Holly confirmed she was stepping down from the show earlier this month.

Posting a collage of photos from the show on Instagram, Holly wrote: "Thank you @celebjuiceofficial for 12 years of fantastic chaos... I can’t quite believe what we’ve done and how quick that time has gone.

“Thank you to you all for watching, we’ve always had the loudest and best audiences.”

She added: "It’s time for me to hand over my team captain seat to some lucky lucky person... whoever that is, know you are about to get one of the best jobs in telly working with one of comedies finest... @keithlemon."
