Catherine Tyldesley says she'll 'lose her marbles' if government doesn't tackle obesity crisis

Catherine Tyldesley has urged the government to tackle the obesity crisis in an impassioned rant.

The former Coronation Street star, 37, shared her anger that Krispy Kreme is offering free donuts to Americans who can prove that they'd have the Covid-19 vaccine.

She urged the Prime Minister Boris Johnson not to reduce the price of fast food once the coronavirus pandemic ends.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Tuesday morning, Catherine shared a screenshot of Krispy Kreme's tweet promoting the offer.

She wrote on the photo: "Beyond f**ked up. I honestly give up... next Boris will reduce fast food again.

"Knowing full well how overwhelmed obesity problems make the NHS... funny that isn't it."

Catherine then filmed herself ranting, saying: "I swear to god Boris, if you follow suit and start reducing fast food again knowing how severely obesity affects this virus, I will lose my marbles."

She went on: "Why not reduce fruit and vegetables?

"Why not send out fruit and vegetables to families that can't afford it?"

Catherine continued: "We all know that for years now the UK has been in an obesity crisis, an obesity epidemic. The government don't seem to give two hoots.

'We also know that if you contract COVID and you are obese or you are overweight the struggle is much worse.

She added: "Do outreach: free, educational programmes for families that need to know more about nutrition.
