Cathcart Circle - mass disruption on Glasgow trains after signal fault

Train passengers on the Cathcart circle are facing delays this morning due to a signal fault.

The issue has been detected between Glasgow Central and Queen's Park.

Network Rail has advised ScotRail colleagues that they don't expect the disruption to be cleared until at least 9am.

Train services between Glasgow Central and Newton Lanark via Kings Park will be revised.

Meanwhile, services are at a standstill between Dalreoch and Bowling this morning due to another electrical fault.

ScotRail say they will have an update on this soon.

The problems come as a weather warning prepares to come into force from lunchtime.

The Met Office warns that conditions will get worse this morning, with rainstorms set to arrive as early as 8am, and thunderstorms and heavy rain later on.

The yellow alert will continue throughout the day, as Glaswegians face possible travel disruption and the chance of flooding in places.
