Catfish UK given start date and trailer - but it doesn't star Nev Schulman

One of MTV's biggest shows is getting a UK makeover - and it'll be here VERY soon.

Catfish will air its first ever series of the US reality TV show outside of America next week.

The first episode of Catfish UK is set to land on Wednesday April 21 - but it doesn't star Nev Schulman.

If you're not familiar with the show, it used to see hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph help an individual who is trying to meet up with their online loves - all while they have suspicions of their true identity.

And let's just say it makes for jaw-dropping viewing.

However, the brand new UK version will be hosted by journalists Oobah Butler and Julie Adenuga.

And a trailer has finally been released.

The 60-second clip shows host Oobah claim that the duo have stumbled across 'a criminal, not a Catfish,' as they hunt the truth for one UK resident who contacted the show for help.

And while Nev isn't starring in this series, he did make a brief cameo in the trailer.

"Kamie and I are handing over the cameras to Julie and Oobah, it's time to go fishing in the UK," he says.

The series will be split into four hour-long episodes on MTV UK starting on April 21 at 9pm.
