MTV has suspended production of its long-running cyber-dating series "Catfish: The TV Show" pending an investigation into sexual misconduct claims against host and executive producer Nev Schulman.
"We take these allegations very seriously. We're working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation," an MTV spokesperson told the Daily News.
The details of the allegations, which were first reported by the Daily Beast, are unknown.
Schulman, 33, shot to fame in 2010 with his documentary film "Catfish," which featured his own ill-fated romance with a woman who used a fake Facebook profile to bait Schulman into a relationship.
He parlayed the film's success into an MTV show in 2012 with co-host Max Joseph, which featured the two helping people uncover the truths behind their own cyber romances. Season 7 premiered in January.
