Cate Blanchett goes missing in Where'd You Go, Bernadette trailer

The first trailer for Richard Linklater's latest, Where'd You Go, Bernadette, has been released.

Based on Maria Semple's 2012 novel of the same name, the film follows an agoraphobic architect named Bernadette Fox, played by Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett, who disappears just before a family trip to Antarctica.

The book is narrated by Bernadette's 15-year-old daughter Bee Branch, played in the film by Emma Nelson, and is told through a series of documents, including e-mails, memos, and transcripts.

The film is the latest from Boyhood director Linklater, who last year directed Last Flag Flying, which saw Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, and Laurence Fishburne play three Vietnam War veterans who reunite after one of their sons is killed in the Iraq War.

He also wrote the film's screenplay, alongside Holly Gent Palmo and Vincent Palmo Jr, who wrote 2008's Me and Orson Welles

Kristen Wiig, Judy Greer, Billy Crudup, Troian Bellisario, and Laurence Fishburne also star.

Where’d You Go, Bernadette will be released in US cinemas on 22 March and in the UK in spring 2019.
