Catastrophe season 4: Everything you need to know about Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney's comedy series

Catastrophe is back for a fourth series as Sharon and Rob navigate their disastrous lives in an attempt to save their marriage.

The comedy, starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, first hit screens in 2015 and is back for one last side-splitting hurrah, for six episodes of pure, unadulterated joy.

Reoccurring cast Mark Bonnar and Ashley Jensen return as Chris and Fran and there are a whole host of guest stars set for the new episodes.

Here is everything you need to know about series four of Catastrophe…

Lead stars: Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney (Channel 4)

What is Catastrophe about?

The series follows Irish school teacher Sharon Morris and American businessman Rob Norris, who marry months after Sharon falls pregnant following a week-long fling.

Series three saw Rob spiralling out of control, relapsing with his alcoholism, and ending up in a minor car crash. Sharon was juggling her grief over her father’s death with caring for their kids, Frankie and Muireann.

In series four, the two try to untangle their complex marriage and try and make things work – all while Rob is battling the unwanted attention of a fellow AA group member Amanda.

Following his car crash, Rob is stuck in a neck brace and also has to work community service in a charity shop.

On top of everything they have to deal with, Sharon and Rob also battle to save their increasingly-sexless relationship which has hit a rut after a turbulent time.

Who stars in Catastrophe?

Alongside the usual cast, the main addition to the new series is Coronation Street and Broadchurch actress Julie Hesmondhalgh. The actress plays Amanda, who takes a shine to Rob after meeting him at a support group.

Sex and the City star Chris Noth, Michaela Watkins, Nat Foxon and Brian Gleeson have also joined the show.

When does Catastrophe start?

Catastrophe series four begins tonight at Channel 4 at 10pm.
