
Chicago police are warning residents of a string of catalytic converter thefts reported in November and December in Southwest Side neighborhoods.
In each incident, someone removed catalytic converters from parked vehicles in residential areas, according to a community alert from Chicago police.
The thefts happened:
- About 6 p.m. Nov. 18, in the 500 block of West 27th Street;
- About 8:30 p.m. Nov. 24, in the 3700 block of South Winchester Avenue and in the 3600 block of South Lowe Avenue,
- Between 6 p.m. and 8:30 a.m., between Dec. 2 and 3, in the 3500 block of South Hoyne;
- Between 9 p.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 3, in the 3300 block of South Leavitt Avenue;
- About 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4, in the 2000 block of South Wells Street;
- About 1:40 p.m. Dec. 4, in the 1900 block of West 33rd Street;
- About 9 p.m. Dec. 5, in the 2900 block of South Canal Street;
- Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Dec. 6, in the 3400 block of West 38th Street; and
- About 10:30 a.m. Dec. 7, in the 3300 block of West 38th Street.
