Catalytic converter thefts reported in Logan Square: police

Three catalytic converter thefts were reported in January 2020 in Logan Square. | Sun-Times file

Chicago police are warning residents of three catalytic converter thefts reported in January in Logan Square on the Northwest Side.

In each incident, someone removed the catalytic converter from the victim’s vehicle and fled, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The thefts happened:

  • Between 3:30 p.m. Jan. 3 and 11:30 a.m. Jan 4 in the 2600 block of North Francisco Avenue;
  • About 3:15 a.m. Jan. 4 in the 2600 block of North Richmond Street; and
  • Just after midnight Jan. 5 in the 2700 block of North Richmond Street.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
