Catalytic converter thefts reported in Hyde Park

Chicago police are warning residents of a pair of catalytic converter thefts reported in February and March in Hyde Park on the South Side.

In each incident someone stole catalytic converters from parked vehicles, according to a community alert from Chicago police.

The thefts happened:

  • Between 12:30 a.m. and and 10:50 a.m. Feb. 21 in the 5400 block of South Dorchester Avenue; and
  • Between 6:15 p.m. March 3 and 8:45 a.m. March 4 in the 5100 block of South Dorchester Avenue.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Area Central detectives at 312-747-8380.
