Catalytic converter thefts reported in Bronzeville: police

Chicago police are warning residents of a string of catalytic converter thefts reported in February and March in Bronzeville on the South Side.

In each incident someone stole catalytic converters from parked vehicles, Chicago police said in a community alert. In one incident someone was seen fleeing in a black Dodge Charger.

The thefts happened:

  • About 5:30 a.m. Feb. 3 in the 4300 block of South King Drive;
  • About 11 p.m. Feb. 11 and between 4 p.m. Feb. 11 and 7 a.m. Feb. 12 in the 4300 block of South Forrestville Avenue; and
  • Between 7:30 p.m. March 2 and 7 a.m. March 3 in the 4500 block of South Michigan Avenue.
