Catalytic converter thefts reported in Arcadia Terrace: police

Police are warning North Side residents after two catalytic converter thefts were reported in Arcadia Terrace in September.

In each case, someone went underneath the vehicle and removed the catalytic converters, Chicago police said.

One theft was reported between 6 p.m. Sept. 29 and 7 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 5900 block of North Maplewood Avenue, police said. The other occurred at 12:01 a.m. Sept. 30 in the 5800 block of North Washtenaw Avenue.

No suspect description was available.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
