Cat thrown about and beaten as yob laughs in disgusting Snapchat video

An animal charity is hunting two people who beat a cat and filmed it.

The RSPCA is desperate to trace the pair after the sick video was posted on Snapchat.

Bosses at the national charity are appealing for information to find the animal abuser who was captured laughing after the horrendous attack, which surfaced about three months ago.

The horrifying footage, which is believed to be filmed in the West Midlands area shows a youth grabbing the terrified cat by the scruff of the neck, lowering it to the floor and then hitting the cat’s face with his hand, reports BirminghamLive.

He then gives the helpless pet three hard smacks across the head.

Next he throws the cowering grey and white animal onto a bed.

Both the man abusing the cat and the person filming the horrific attack then start laughing.

The video was shared on Snapchat and a member of the public – from the West Midlands who viewed it on May 25 – was able to secure the footage and reported the matter to the animal charity .

RSPCA Inspector Boris Lasserre has now launched an investigation to try and identify the cat abuser and the man videoing the violence.

It is hoped someone will recognise him from the footage which could have potentially come from anywhere in the country although initial inquiries are focused in the West Midlands area.

Speaking at the time, he added: “We are appealing to the wider public to see if anyone can recognise the person subjecting the cat to this deliberate and violent beating and also the man who is filming this sick attack.

“This is shocking behaviour and totally unacceptable. It is quite clear from the video that the cat is terrified even before it receives the repeated blows and is violently thrown down onto the bed.

“It may be friends, family, or even the parents who may not be aware that the family pet is being subjected to such gratuitous brutality.

"I have a specific set of questions for these individuals when they are found. The laughing from both of them throughout the attack shows they have a very worrying lack of humanity and empathy for the suffering of a living creature.”

Boris added: “We are keen to identify the individual filming and the individual subjecting the cat to the beating. We are now hoping the general public can help provide us with the information we need to bring those responsible to justice.”

Boris said: “We are still keen to hear from anyone with information about who the person is in this video.” "We are appealing to anyone who may recognise something on this video to please come forward: it may be that they know the person, the cat, the room or the Snapchat username which posted the video - ‘the nyah Way’. Anyone with information about this can call the RSPCA appeals line on 0300 123 8018.
