Cat owner spots his pet living secret second life when snooping on neighbour

A cat owner was left stunned when he spotted his prized pet living a secret double life in his neighbour's home.

When a 'for sale' sign when up in his neighbourhood, the man couldn't resist looking it up online and having a snoop.

But he was left shocked beyond words when he saw his cat living it's best second life, lounging around the property like a king.

Twitter user @Generoom has left people in stitches after posting a screenshot of one of the photos used to advertise the sale with the caption: "The neighbours just put the house up for sale. Couldn't resist checking it out on Zoopla. That's our bloody cat."

The image, shared by our sister title The Mirror, shows a single bedroom with a ginger cat stretched out on the purple bedding looking very comfortable.

Considering the feline hadn't been shooed out of the home for the photoshoot to take place, it's a fair assumption that the not-so-loyal pet's visits to the the secret second home are not a rare occurrence.

The post has racked up more than 35,000 likes in a matter of hours, as other cat owners and forcibly adopted cat owners shared their own similar stories.

One wrote: "Brilliant. My friend had 2 cats and one would always go off from morning til night. She knocked on her neighbour's house a few doors down to give her a parcel she took in and went inside and saw pix of her cat in frames lounging in the living room."

A second commented: "The day we moved house an old lady from down the street came and gave us some toys and cat food telling us they were our cat's - turns out the bugger used to go and sit with her during the day..."

And another added: "On the day we moved house, I was carrying the cat in his basket when a neighbour came out to ask if the cat was ours. They had been feeding him every day. He continued to act like a hungry cold stray for 19 years."
