Cat Deeley hosts Lorraine prompting viewers to issue job demand to ITV

Fans had a clear message for ITV as Cat Deeley stood in for Lorraine Kelly on Monday, urging the channel to give her a full time job.

The former SMTV and So You Think You Can Dance host was sat in Lorraine's famous seat to start her week long stint as guest presenter as she was joined by the likes of Tom Odell and Stacey Solomon to chat everything from wedding proposals to The Masked Singer.

Cat's appearance on Lorraine came weeks after viewers were full of praise for her highly anticipated reunion with Ant and Dec for a special edition of CHUMS on Saturday Night Takeaway, with fans blown away by her flawless appearance.

And, as she appeared on our screens looking equally as glam on Monday, many people watching at home begged ITV to give her a permanent job, as a certain Geordie duo also sent a message of encouragement to be played in the studio.

One tweeted: "Cat Deeley is class. She needs her own show. Come on ITV, get on the case!"

Echoing those exact sentiments, another posted: "Love, love, love #CatDeeley ! Keep her permanently please!" and a third reacted: " catdeeley on the box. In for #lorraine Hope this become a permanent fixture!"

However, given Lorraine Kelly's own legendary status, other viewers weren't so enamoured with Cat taking the presenting reins, with one blasting: " @catdeeley is god awful on this show. She’s managed to push her way in now she failed in the USA," and, in agreement, another tweeted: "The nervousness of @catdeeley on @lorraine is obvious.

"She has been out of the business far too long. The over the top loud voice is unnecessary and the questioning isn't coming naturally for her."

At the end of Monday's programme, Cat revealed that she'd be joined tomorrow by First Dates' Fred and singer and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Louise Redknapp.
