A cat believed to have been stolen from the RSPCA in Weston has been found and reunited with its family.

But another cat belonging to the same family is still missing after the distressing incident.

A search has been under way for Luna and Beau since April 17. They were last seen before a break-in at Tangos Cat Boarding in the early hours of the morning.

CCTV footage released last month appeared to show a man making his way to the back of the public cat kennel where a security screen was destroyed and a window smashed.

The family of Beau and Luna had been holidaying on the South Coast for the school holidays during the break-in. They appealed last month for the safe return of their pets.

Luna was reunited with her Kambah family on Saturday morning, after she entered a humane trap on the RSPCA shelter's grounds in Weston.

"I want to thank our friends and community for the help, support and love provided and I know that you will share in our joy at having Luna back at home," RSPCA ACT chief executive Michelle Robertson said.

"Unfortunately, Beau is sadly still missing, but we will continue to remain hopeful."

A 39-year-old Coombs man alleged to have broken into the shelter was identified by police and summoned to court.
