Casualty viewers spot TWO familiar faces including former Coronation Street star

Casualty fans were stunned by a familiar face on the BBC drama on Saturday, as a patient named Trina made her debut.

Several fans couldn’t place where they had seen her before, as some even questioned if she was a former cast member of the series.

Trina was played by actress Donnaleigh Bailey, who has previously had roles in BBC soap Doctors and Casualty’s spin-off series Holby City.

While she doesn’t appear to have been in Casualty before, she more recently appeared on ITV soap Coronation Street as police officer Jess Heywood.

Taking to Twitter , viewers began looking for answers as to why they recognised her so much.

One fan said: “Where Have I seen that patient Trina before?”

But while some fans couldn’t place her, it was her role as nurse Michelle in Doctors that other fans appeared to remember her from the most.

One fan tweeted: “It’s Donnaleigh Bailey, loved her in #Doctors #Casualty.”

Another agreed: “Is that Michelle the nurse from Doctors playing Trina?”

She wasn’t the only recognisable face though, with former The Bill actor Andrew Paul, who played officer Dave Quinnan, also getting a spot on the show.

The actress also appeared in Coronation Street (ITV)

Viewers were quick to spot him, with a viewer tweeting: “Good to see PC Dave Quinnan in #Casualty.”

Another said: “Nice seeing PC Dave Quinnan back on telly.”

Casualty continues next Saturday on BBC One at 8:25pm.
